Most people use the term 'Gap Theory', but for an idea to become a theory, it must have at least a few facts to back it up. This is why 'theory' was added to the 'Gap idea', it was a deceitful ruse to give the idea some prominence and/or respect. But since this idea lacks any facts or basis from Scripture, it must remain a hypothesis.

Other terms used for this 'Gap Hypothesis' are; "Ruin and Restoration Theory". Again, this is taught as a tenable theory by some but as an established fact by most of its adherents.

At any rate, there are a few variations of this hypothesis. But to state it simply, some "theologians" bought the Evolutionists geological lie that the earth is millions or billions of years old. Then, lacking faith in God's Word that the earth is approximately 6,000 years old, and not being in tune with the Holy Spirit, they became embarrassed of the Bible.
So in their desire to gain respectability with the men of science (and in contempt of the Holy Spirit), they decided upon a wresting of the interpretations of Scripture, to make Scripture fit the Evolutionary "facts".

They hypothesized that a long period of time (the Evolutionists millions or billions of years) existed between God's initial creation in Genesis 1:1 when, "God created the heaven and the earth" -and- Genesis 1:2 when the earth was, "without form, and void".

Most gappers believe that prior to Genesis 1:2 the "1st Earth" was inhabited by a pre-Adamic race of men, angelic creatures and mysterious dinosaurs, with Lucifer as its king.

The Gapists teach that the world existed in this manner for "millions and millions" (think of Carl Sagan here) or perhaps billions of years. Its end then occurred when God, finding iniquity in Lucifer's heart, was compelled to judge and destroy that earth. This happened by what they term as "Lucifer's Flood" (2 Peter 3: 5 - 7) to make the earth "without form, and void" - Genesis 1:2.

The Gapists then claim that God began to re-create that 1st Earth, to make a "2nd Earth" Genesis 1: 3-31. This is also known as "ruin-restoration".

And that Lucifer in his fall became Satan (this is the only part they have correct).

     The Bible states in...
Psalm 19:7 - "...the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple."
Psalm 119:130 - "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple."

So therefore, to compromise the simplicity and authority of Scripture, is to undermine God and accommodate the world's current philosophy.

In other words, if a young Christian were to read the first chapter of Genesis, without being instructed in anything gap; they wound not see a 'gap' anywhere in there, nor have cause to look for a 'missing link' even if they read it 25 times in a row! Genesis chapter 1 makes 'complete' sense in its simplicity.

There is not a hint, in the straight-forward reading of the verses here or anywhere else, recounting a re-creation from any ruin and subsequent restoration. On this, Scripture is absolutely silent.

If-the 'Gap Hypothesis' were in fact true, the average person must NOT be able nor capable of reading the Bible and understanding it, without some priest, guru, rabbi or theologian explaining the esoteric meaning of it all. This is an earmark of nearly all cults.
"Let my cry come near before thee, O Lord: give me understanding according to thy word." - Psalm 119: 169.
Also, Jesus emphatically stated in, John 16:13...
"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come."

      Paul obviously got the message...
"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual." - I Corinthians. 2: 12-13

When there is an important, need to know 'gap' in scripture - God plainly declares it. The very 1st 'gap' in the Bible is announced at Genesis 4: 3...
"And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD."

God announces 4 more 'gaps' that you wouldn't know were there by the simple reading of scripture, except for Him telling you. They are found at; Genesis 38:12, Exodus 2:23, Judges 11:4, and 2 Chronicles 21:19.

Therefore, since God plainly declares the 'gaps' in scripture, and it is obvious that God did not declare a 'gap' in the 1st chapter of Genesis -- then obviously there is not one!

For the last hundred years or so, virtually all "theologians" interpret the Scriptures with a mind devoid of, nor concerned with, the Holy Spirit (this mind-set mired us in the current: Age of Apostasy). Instead, the "theologian's" mind is clouded by man's opinions, preconceived ideas from man and a bias from having been "educated" in heathen government schools or bible colleges, which are under the control of Satan and his angels of light...
"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works." - 2 Corinthians 11: 13-15

If we are to choose between an interpretation based upon the problems of biological and/or geological "science" -or- an interpretation based upon the evident meaning of Scripture: we must choose Scripture. Then wait for "scientific knowledge" to catch up. For the evidence of the Gap Hypothesis, only takes place in the mind of its beholders.

We are not commissioned to harmonize and re-interpret the Bible in line with contemporary thought, in order to make Christianity more palatable and prestigious to supposed intellectuals. This would be presupposing that natural man's reason can judge Biblical Truth - something which Masonic, Gnostic or Occult leadership would have you to believe.

Let it never be forgotten: science changes, the Bible does NOT!
"20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: 21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen." -I Timothy 6:20-21

And with that, let us break-down their 4 main passages.

          First is; Genesis 1:28...
"And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

Gapists in this passage focus on the phrase - "and replenish the earth". Their reasoning here is that God is commanding Adam and Eve to re-populate the earth with people. The Gapists basis for this 're-population' assumption is that the previous "pre-Adamic" inhabitants were destroyed -- people which the Gapists claim were here on the earth before the Bible states that God created Adam. But this presumption is myopic in the extreme!!

What are the very next words God states immediately after "replenish the earth"? God very plainly states, "and subdue it" - subdue what?!... Obviously, God is directly referring to the earth Adam is to replenish, God is commanding Adam to subdue, or in other words - take control of the Earth! God is not ordering Adam to subdue his future sons and daughters!

The King James Bible is always consistent in its word usage; Earth always describes the globe or a physical place on the globe -and- World always describes people or society. More about this when we get to 2nd Peter.

When you look at the situation God is presenting to Adam as He speaks this, God has just finished His 'plenishing' (or filling) of the Earth (not World) and is commanding Adam to carry on from here and keep it going. Adam is to grow more trees, bushes, flowers, fruits and vegetables, landscaping - the conditions were perfect for Adam to do as Adam wanted to do.

So therefore, the phrase "replenish the earth" really has nothing to do with population of people OR especially re-population! Again... note the word - earth, not the word - world. For if God were talking about people and population, He would have stated, "replenish the world"!

The 'command' to populate came in the 2-commands prior to "and replenish the earth". The commands being; "Be fruitful, and multiply".

Now if "and replenish the earth" did have anything to do with populating the earth with people, and you traded the common word we use today -- 'reproduce' for 'replenish' -- you would have God commanding Adam and Eve to reproduce, because God had 'produced'. But as I have stated previously, this has nothing to do with people, it has everything to do with replenishing or reproducing the grasses, herbs, trees, etc.

To further clarify verse 28, is to notice that "replenish the earth, and subdue it:" DOES NOT end with a period, but a colon. This means the sentence that began verse 28 is still continuing. "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, [Be fruitful, and multiply - populate with people] and [replenish the earth, and subdue it - reproduce the grasses, herbs and trees] : and have dominion over...the fish, fowl and animals. That's it (!) plain and simple, verse 28 covers EVERYTHING that Adam was in charge of as king of Planet Earth! Nothing Theosophical nor Talmudic about it.

The significance of verse 28, is that this is the verse where God -- lists for and to Adam -- all the responsibilities that God is commissioning to Mankind. Also, gaining the knowledge and understanding of things is inherent in the word subdue; for you can not subdue anything unless you have gained significant knowledge and understanding of the subject.

This also corresponds exactly with the same command that God also gave to Noah in Genesis 9:1 - "And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, [Be fruitful, and multiply - populate with people] and [replenish the earth - reproduce the grasses, herbs and trees]. But the part about the fish, fowl and animals, changes in verse 2 - "And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth...air...and...sea..."etc.

Most all Creationists will incorrectly explain verse 28 by saying; some English words have changed meaning somewhat or the understanding of them over the centuries and that the word "replenish" means; to fill, and fill again - (in reference to populating the earth w/people). Or, the "scholarly" who idolize man, just call it - "an unfortunate or misleading translation of the Hebrew".

But the well meaning Creationists, got caught up in the Gapists misinterpretation of "and replenish the earth". If they would have stepped back, and sought the Holy Spirit's wisdom, instead of man's wisdom, they would have been made aware of this misinterpretation that permeates bible colleges and commentaries.

     Next is; Isaiah 45:18...
"For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else."

The concern of the Gapists in this verse is the phrase - "he created it not in vain". If you are not a Hebrew "scholar" the argument makes no sense to you. And if you are, in reality the Gapist's argument, makes even less sense.

Its just a matter of individuals attempting to flout their degree to prove they can defy the Holy Spirit and contort Scripture to prove their point.

But that aside, the Hebrew word "tohu" is translated here as "in vain". Then back in Genesis 1:2, this same Hebrew word "tohu" is translated "without form".

So the Gapists claim this means Genesis 1:2 was incorrectly translated and should have been translated - " And the earth became without form, and void."

See what I mean by flouting their degree and thinking they are smarter than God, who promised to preserve His Word? To God, degrees are just "wood, hay and stubble" when it comes to theology!!
