April 2008 was a clear breakthrough in my spiritual growth; breakthrough in the sense that I found the perfect Bible. I love Jesus. The more I learn about Him, the more I love Him. In Revelation 19:13, it states that His name is called the Word of God. Thus, since the Bible is the Word of God, Jesus is the Bible. So, if you want to learn more about Him, start reading the Bible.

One day, while I was conducting a home Bible study in the City of Urdaneta, a brethren asked me, “Pastor, what Bible version should I buy?” I was using an NKJV (New King James Version) back then. I told him to buy what I’m using so that we could recite the verses in unison. When I got home, I searched the internet on what version is better. Hey, in this perspective, it doesn’t look that serious. But consider this; I was looking for a better version than the NKJV. I just bought an expensive Spirit-Filled Life Study Bible NKJV version and my room has 3 NKJV to spare in case one is borrowed. Back on the internet search; my browsing lead me to a site that discussed about the different versions of the Bible (http://www.av1611.org/). I couldn’t believe what I discovered. Then I remembered Romans 8:28 (And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose). I continued my research then it struck me, and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32).

Brethren, I would like to present to you the truth that I found. Some leaders, even pastors, discouraged me on teaching or sharing the truth that I found. James 4:17, “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” I couldn’t just sit idle and just allow the truth that I found be kept for myself. It would be selfishness on my part and a sin because I know what to do and wouldn’t do it.

Before I continue, may I remind each one of us that “be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matt. 5:48). Jesus, while at the mount of temptation, told Satan, “man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY WORD that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matt. 4:4)”. It is my mission to find the book that has EVERY WORD of God. I need to have it if I am to know my God and my Saviour more. This is where I knew God answers prayers. He guided me to find the truth that would make me free. Since then, my preaching ministry was never the same again. I found deeper truths and my relationship with God became more personal than ever before. The reason I am doing this, defending His infallible and inerrant book, is because I love my God. And I am extending my love to you, my brethren as commanded by Jesus in Mark 12:29-31. Bear with me as we begin to learn more about His Holy Bible.

THE A.V. 1611 (KING JAMES BIBLE)

The King James Bible (KJB or KJV or AV1611) is the infallible and inerrant Word of God. All other versions are what I call per-versions. Many leaders reject this truth. They don’t want any part of it. Why? Is it because of the archaic words included in the KJB? Is it because of the thee, thine, thou and ye? Or is it because they are already used with their own versions?

Brethren, I am used with my NKJV. I invested for an expensive Spirit-Filled Study Bible NKJV just to widen my knowledge about Christ. But I have to give it up. If you know that one thing is good for you, will you let it slip by and just carry on with your usual thing? If you know the truth, will you settle for a lie instead?

The thee, thine, thou and ye were ALREADY archaic in 1611! They were no longer using them in spoken English. But why include them? Consider John 3:7 in the NKJV, “John 3:7 Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.” The context of this verse; Nicodemus was talking with Jesus in the midst of a gathering. They were talking about being born again. From that verse, just by reading it, to whom was Jesus addressing His words? He was talking to Nicodemus but was verse 7 addressed to him directly? If we read it plainly the answer would be yes. In the KJB, “Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again”. When the pronoun begins with the letter t’, it is a singular address; if y, it is plural. Thus, Jesus was telling Nicodemus not to marvel and that all of them must be born again! The verse was both addressed to Nicodemus and to the group. The KJB retained these pronouns for us to immerse more on the situation that the Bible is trying to tell us. It allows us to see the situation and understand more. The retention of these pronouns makes reading the KJB understandable and imaginable.

Let us compare the KJB with the popular NIV (New International Version). Let’s begin with Mark 1:2-3,
2 It is written in Isaiah the prophet:
"I will send my messenger ahead of you,
               who will prepare your way"
3 "a voice of one calling in the desert,
'Prepare the way for the Lord,
               make straight paths for him.'"
                                                  NIV

2 As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
                                                  KJV
Was it really Isaiah, the prophet, who wrote this? Nay, it wasn’t only him. In Malachi 3:1, behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me. In Isaiah 40:3, the voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. It was Malachi who wrote what was read in Mark 1:2 and Isaiah in verse 3 of Mark 1. It wasn’t only Isaiah! If the NIV had forgotten about it then it isn’t infallible. If it made a mistake then it isn’t inerrant. Thus, can we conclude that the NIV is not written according to the Holy Spirit? If you say that it is under the guidance of the Holy Spirit then your holy spirit is a lying spirit and I bet you know who the father of lying is (Jesus had said in  John 8:44, Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it). Now, if the NIV raises questions about the infallibility of God’s Word, who put it there? In the Garden of Eden, Satan was introduced as a serpent that was SUBTLE and spoke to Eve with a QUESTION MARK. He was injecting questions on the word of God to Adam and Eve. He was raising doubts to the infallible word of God. What Satan did to the first Adam, he again tried to the last Adam, Jesus. When he tempted Jesus in the mount of temptation, he used God’s word and twisted it. Do you think that Satan wouldn’t use that strategy on us? Why are there so many versions? There are at least 200 versions out there. Do you mean to tell me that all of them are the infallible word of God?

Some people encourage my congregation on using the NIV because it is easier to understand than the KJB. So is sin. It is better to understand sin than to reject it. If you can’t handle it, better give in to something much easier to understand. That is actually what Eve did! She couldn’t understand the word of God and settled for Satan’s version. Satan was making Jesus’ ministry easier by tempting Jesus to worship him and he would give all the kingdoms and its glory to Jesus. Did Jesus budge in to Satan just like Adam did? Satan is making our ministry easier by presenting so many versions and deny the KJB. Have you budge in like Adam?

Let us look at this verse Acts 8:37;
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  KJV

What?! Nothing can be found in the NIV. Ooppss! They have it on their footnotes. But who will read the footnotes? And some NIV Bibles doesn’t even have footnotes. The publishers and translators of NIV removed this precious verse and claimed that they made Bible-reading easier with their NIV. Deut 4:2, “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you”. Rev 22:19 “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” You don’t want to keep the commandments of the Lord your God then go read your NIV. You want to be cut off from the book of life then settle for your NIV. There are so many verses that the NIV had omitted and put it on their footnotes. I believe that if you put something on the footnotes, it isn’t part of that book. The NIV rejects these verses that is why they put it on their footnotes.

In 1 John 5:7,
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. KJV

For there are three that testify  NIV

The verse that clearly states the Godhead, the Tri-une God; the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost; strengthening Deuteronomy 6:4 and Mark 12:29 (Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord). But look at what the NIV did; they removed verse 7 and dissected verse 8; and made 2 verses out of one verse. It is very clear that the NIV denies the Trinity. Need more proof? 1 Tim 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. KJV

Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great:
               He appeared in a body,
               was vindicated by the Spirit,
               was seen by angels,
               was preached among the nations,
was believed on in the world,
was taken up in glory.   NIV

Talk about major surgery! This verse talks about the Deity of Jesus; God was manifest in the flesh; strengthening John 1:14 (And the Word was made flesh). NIV corrupted it by bringing Jesus to the level of man; he appeared in a body? Every man appeared in a body. The NIV is corrupting not only the infallibility of God’s word but even denying the Godhood of Jesus. If you believe that Jesus is not God then NIV suits you perfectly!

Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue (Ps 120:2).

The KJB even warned us about the onslaught of different thinking like evolution theory, gap theory and big-bang theory. In 1 Tim 6:20 (O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called), Paul warned Timothy about the coming opposition of science against God’s word. And note that only the KJB has the word science in this verse; every version changed it to knowledge (they broaden the scope unlike the KJB that pinpoints the exact knowledge that is needed to be warned).

Another verse that is major to all those who seek the truth is 2 Tim 2:15, (Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.) Only the KJB has this word on this verse. Note that it says ‘STUDY’ meaning to dwell-in, not only on Scriptures but also other sources that would justify the authenticity of the Scripture.

Seeking the Truth

Brethren, I couldn’t put everything I want to share in this bulletin. But I’ll try to post as soon as possible. Note that we have to study, not only the Scripture, but on how the Scripture was published. If you know of a Bible that is infallible and inerrant other than the KJB, please tell me. I need the pure words of the Lord. For I know that He has kept His pure words as stated in Ps 12:6-7 (6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever); His words are settled in Heaven (Ps 119:89).
